Terminals- Relient K

Relient K just launched a new album, "Forget and Not Slow Down." The entire album's about a breakup, and though it's alright lyrically and musically, it's just lacking in that perky, funny, random, but Christian style I came to love from Relient K. Some songs, including the title track, "Candlelight," and "Sahara" are starting to grow on me, but my ultimate favorite is the Amazon bonus exclusive track, "Terminals," produced by Adam Young of Owl City. It's so much more fun than the other songs! I had almost given up on the album, but this one rolled along. Great song!

They said the timing was dreadful
(Yeah you can say that again)
But now there is one pair of heads full
(Of thoughts that don't make any sense)
Just passin' through, tryin' to catch that glimpse of you,

I never hold on when I change
Terminals at ATL
It's a balance of grace
In a place where I tripped and fell
But if grace receives all my weight
Then it becomes a crutch
And I don't wanna walk with a crutch so much
That I can't stand
Taller than before!

It splintered, and I felt horrendous
(Lying through the gap in my teeth)
But broken is when you can mend us
(So help me get back up on my feet)

Just passin' through, tryin' to catch that glimpse of you,

I never hold on when I change
Terminals at ATL
It's a balance of grace
In a place where I tripped and fell
But if grace receives all my weight
Then it becomes a crutch
And I don't wanna walk with a crutch so much
That I can't stand
Taller than before!

Well I am staring longer than I know i should be
I can't believe you're standing next to me

I never hold on when I change
Terminals at ATL
It's a balance of grace
In a place where I tripped and fell
But if grace receives all my weight
Then it becomes a crutch
And I don't wanna walk with a crutch so much
That I can't stand
Taller than before!

Yeah I will stand taller than before,
Taller than before!

After Reading Edward Taylor

Edward Taylor was an early American poet. Last year in Am. Lit. we read his poems, and then this just came straight into my head. I think it was September '08. There were other stanzas that I wrote later, but I like this one best, just standing alone.

As diamond's made from blackened stone
Lord, make me Your very own.
Now hard and cold, my heart must be
Placed under pressured heat by Thee.
Though it may hurt--such awful weight!--
I know it shall perfection make.
And with Thy patience I'll endure,
A perfect diamond, clean and pure.

Letters, by Stellar Kart

I recently discovered how fully amazing Stellar Kart is. They're a wonderful band, and their songs are just awesome! This one has been running through my head for an hour or two. They don't say who the song's written to. It could very well be a soldier to his sweetheart back home. But I don't think so. It's a song sung by a servant to his master; a child to a father; a bride to the awaiting bridegroom. It's our song to Christ, and it's so encouraging to me. How easily we forget the many letters God's written to us! With promises, and hope, and love- and how it breaks His heart when we do forget.

I hope never to forget.

Here's the song:

Far from home, You find me
Amidst the lost and dying
Nothing's fair in love and war
Worlds apart in desperation
Please erase this separation
Only You are worth fighting for

'Cause there's love in every letter written
A hope that gets me through the day
Forever's never too long to wait

Someday soon we'll be together
Where a moment lasts forever
And our love shines brighter than the stars
Until then I will remember
Every word and every letter
The promises You've written on my heart,
On my heart!

I see the darkness blinding
All that's left are my dreams
To save me from the night
Your words of hope remind me
Somewhere the sun is shining
Don't give up the fight

'Cause there's love in every letter written
A hope that gets me through the day
Forever's never too long to wait

Someday soon we'll be together
Where a moment lasts forever
And our love shines brighter than the stars
Until then I will remember
Every word and every letter
The promises You've written on my heart,
On my heart!

Isn't it beautiful? It's so pretty with the music; there's such a gorgeous drumbeat that sounds like a battle march. . .

Fine, by Jaymes Reunion

Hello my friend, can you teach me how to breathe again?
Can you teach me how to love? Can you give me a life?
The problem begins when I add it up and count again
I'm losing every fight, and I need some answers
Maybe it's alright, and I'm gonna land it

Well you've never really loved, until you've watched it fall apart and
You've never really lived, until you felt like you could die and
You've never really stood, until the weight has pushed you over
You're picking up the pieces just to find, you're doing just fine

I'm scared to death that I'll never find the me that's best
Every story's been told, I feel like a loser
All these wounds are getting old, so I'm gonna land it

Cause you've never really loved, until you've watched it fall apart and
You've never really lived, until you felt like you could die and
You've never really stood, until the weight has pushed you over
You're picking up the pieces just to find, you're doing just fine

Oh, I'm spinning out of control, looking up as I fall,
The colors they blur around me
Oh, I've cut up my heart again, this freedom is nothing but sin
I know you know me better,
So make it better,

And I never really loved, until I watched it fall apart and
I never really lived, until I saw that I was dead and
I never really stood, until the weight had pushed me over
I'm picking up the pieces just to find
Everything's fine!

Let's all welcome..... me!

Hi, all!

I'm Arynne Borne, and I'm starting this blog- well, actually, it's the old, worn-out blog of a very dear friend, and I liked it so much she let me have it! Wasn't that sweet?

Yep, so here I am. I'm not gonna give out much of my own information on this site, so if you're fishing for data to stalk me or something, well, sorry to disappoint. :) This blog won't be the sort of online journal where I post my entire life like some extended Twitter feed; nope, it's going to be me, posting whatever moves me at the moment. I'll try to keep it current! Could be songs, verses, a cool pic or two, a neat article, something hilarious, something sad, my ramblings on a subject that means a lot to me... sometimes I'll just need to write, and throw my thoughts out there for the world to see.

So, bear with me as I launch out into the world, pen blazing!
